Roy Burns (known in-game as Part 5 Jason) is one of the variations of Jason Voorhees featured in Friday the 13th: The Game.

History (Friday the 13th: A New Beginning)

Roy Burns was a paramedic who appeared in the 5th installment of the series. He was also the main antagonist of the film, becoming the first and only killer who isn't a Voorhees family member.

The paramedic began his killing spree after his son, Joey was brutally murdered by fellow Pinehurst Youth Center resident, Victor. Fueled with rage, hatred and determination to exact revenge, he started killing everyone in the Pinehurst area in to avenge his son.

After racking up a body count of 17, he was finally stopped by Tommy Jarvis chopping his arm off and causing Roy to fall on a set of farm spikes. After his death, his true identity as Roy Burns, Paramedic, was revealed.

Gameplay

This Jason plays very much like Part 3, since they both share no mobility weaknesses, both can run, and both have low stun resistance. Unlike Part 3 Jason, this Jason does not have a nerf on sense and has increased stalk. So, Part 5 Jason can sneak up on counselors easier than most Jason's.

Also, Part 5 Jason plays a little like Part 6 Jason in terms of weaponry. Both have 5 traps, the standard amount, and both start with several throwing knives to dish out high damage from a long range.

Since Part 5 Jason (Roy) is a regular human, he isn't quite as strong as the real Jasons. He has lower grip strength, meaning that counselors break out of your grasp easier. This can be made even worse if the counselor has high composure, meaning they may break out in a couple of seconds. So, hurting them with knives or weapon attacks is a good way to make sure they can't get to far away from you.

This Jason is weaker when fighting counselors than the others, so combat stance blocking is essential to successfully defending yourself from counselor attacks.

This Jason thrives by picking off separated people and struggles with groups. The knives and increased stalk give Part 5 Jason a calculated, stealth, assassin-style of gameplay, as opposed to the brute force gameplay of the other Jasons. But don't be mistaken, just because he's easier to fight doesn't mean he isn't powerful. When used correctly, this Jason is a menace.
